Teaching

My teaching focuses on Christian education, discipleship, leadership, and spiritual formation. I teach in graduate and doctoral settings and work with students through classroom instruction, discipleship, mentoring, and research supervision. Across these contexts, I help students connect careful scholarship with practical ministry and leadership.

Teaching Experience

Dallas Theological Seminary

I serve as an adjunct professor and have supported doctoral courses as a graduate teaching assistant and co-teacher. My work with students emphasizes Christian education, leadership, discipleship, research, and the application of scholarship to ministry practice.

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

As adjunct faculty, I support doctoral students through research supervision and service on dissertation committees. I help students clarify their research questions, engage relevant scholarship, and develop projects to serve the church and strengthen ministry practice.

Teaching Approach

I view teaching (and all of life) as an opportunity to model discipleship. Students need opportunities to examine ideas carefully, connect learning with lived experience, and practice what they are learning in community. My goal is to create a classroom where rigorous study strengthens Christian character and prepares students to serve others with wisdom and faithfulness.

Mentoring and Research Supervision

Much of my work with students happens through mentoring, advising, and research supervision. I enjoy helping students move from a broad ministry concern to a focused research question, find other scholars who can sharpen their thinking, and develop work that meaningfully contributes to their communities.
